Introducing phase8, an eight-voice acoustic synthesizer that merges the sonic richness of the physical world with precise electronic control. With envelope shaping, sequencing, analogue wavefolding, and pitch-dependent modulation, phase8 harnesses the latest Acoustic Synthesis technology developed at KORG.

phase8 is an organic, responsive instrument that feels alive in your hands and responds to the world around you. 8 independent electromechanical voices with steel resonators are at the heart of the instrument’s acoustic sound.

Along the journey to create phase8, our team experimented with many resonator designs. While phase8 comes with 13 resonators engineered to capture a highly precise and beautiful chromatic scale, other resonators were designed for a bit of fun, free exploration – each one producing unique percussive sounds.

Future resonators are in the works and will be available for purchase. Be it a set to add a bit more bass or different tonal palettes – keep an eye and an ear out for new resonator drops.

phase8 invites physical interaction.
You can sculpt the sound by touching, plucking, strumming, or tapping the resonators – or experiment by adding found objects for new textures.

Modulation

Merging modulation effects with acoustic vibrations, phase8 opens you to a new world of Synthesis.
Cycle through tremolo and two audio rate, pitch-dependent modulation types – the last modulation effect can be optionally harmonically quantised.

Automation

Breathe life into your sequence by capturing the tweaking of all controls and tonal changes with the automation capabilities of phase8. Be spontaneous and work with the sound in realtime.
